Tourism in a Changing World: Prospects and Challenges


Call for Sessions Workshops and Minisymposia

The conference organizers invite colleagues to submit proposals for Sessions, or Workshops and Minisymposia. Each session should have at least 6 presentations and each Workshop or Minisymposium at least 12 presentations.

The Session, Workshop or Minisymposium organizers will be responsible for advertising their session, reviewing and selecting the papers. Session organizers will have one presentation free. The Workshop or Minisymposium organizers will have free registration, accommodation and two presentations.

Papers accepted for Sessions, Workshops or Minisymposia will be published in the Proceedings of ICTDM 2009.   After the Conference papers presented at the Sessions, Workshops or Minisymposia will be considered for publication in the International Journal of Tourism Policy where the organiser will act as a guest editor. 

Submission of Proposals

Proposals to organize Sessions, Workshops or Minisymposia should include the following information:

  • title of the workshop name,

  • affiliation,

  • mailing address and e-mail address of the proposer(s)

  • description of the topic of the session (not exceeding 100 words)

  • a short description on how the session will be advertised

Plane Tree of Hippocrates




The ancient physician Hippocrates is thought to have been born on Kos, and in the center of the town is the Plane Tree of Hippocrates, a dream template where the physician is traditionally supposed to have taught. The limbs of the now elderly tree are supported by scaffolding.
